ABADI SEJAHTERA: a tin-ore vessel detention, and two clocks that do not align
Read in the usual format, the report's time field says 23:25. The channel post's Malaysian time is 18:25:21. If both refer to the same day and time zone, the message appeared almost five hours earlier. In this vessel-detention record, the first striking discrepancy is on the clock.
On 22 August 2024, @Sg265alibaba published a Malay-language “preliminary detention report.” It listed the vessel, enforcement boat, crew count, location and even responsible personnel. The content looked detailed; the times did not align with it.
First, what does the report actually say?
ABADI SEJAHTERA is an Indonesian cargo vessel. The material concerns a vessel and tin ore, not officers entering a mine of the same name.
According to the report posted by the channel, the intelligence-led operation was carried out by BOT PERKASA 44 from Mersing. Four Indonesian crew members were aboard. The detention took place at a private jetty, and the vessel was escorted to the POS MARITIM TELUK GADING jetty for further investigation.
The report lists three issues: a suspected attempt to import tin ore through an unauthorised jetty, failure to produce vessel-registration and cargo documents, and doubts over identification documents. Those are the stated reasons for detention. It does not go on to give the ore's quantity, value or owner, or any subsequent charges or judgment.
The line that stops the reader is at the top: “222325H OGOS 2024”.
Under the usual date-time format, it corresponds to 22 August 2024 at 23:25. Yet the channel's visible posting record, converted to Malaysian time, is 18:25:21 that day. Assuming the same day and time zone, the difference is 4 hours, 59 minutes and 39 seconds.
Why does a late-night time appear in a report already posted in the early evening?
The question is specific; the answer is missing. The material does not separately explain which operational stage the time field represents. Nor is a complete original or subsequent correction available locally for comparison. Whether the issue concerns the date, time, transcription or another circumstance remains unexplained.
The gap deserves scrutiny, but does not establish advance information from an insider, much less prove that the report was fabricated. Showing an almost five-hour difference and inventing its cause are different things.
“OP MAKMUR SIRI 01/2018” must also be read in its proper place. It is an operation name, not proof that this detention occurred in 2018. The comparison is between the report's time field and the posting record of 22 August 2024.
Fifty-three seconds later, the channel posted a chat screenshot.
Beside the same report appear two words: “datuk bent”. The enforcement report has barely appeared before a person's form of address enters alongside it. Without a lengthy explanation, the screenshot raises questions: whose vessel, whose cargo, and why is this person mentioned here?
But that form of address is as far as the screenshot goes.
There is no full name, position, shareholding or freight document, and no statement that this person is the vessel owner, cargo owner, recipient or simply someone else mentioned in the conversation. Whether the spelling identifies the Dato Ben / Dato Ben of other posts still requires connecting material.
The chat's 13:03 and 13:04 likewise show times without a complete date or time zone. They do not explain the earlier mismatch between the two clocks.
On one side, the report names the vessel, boat, people and place. On the other, the personal connection is only a form of address. Placing a name beside the report creates a strong implication, but does not establish a specific role.
What deserves preserving here is therefore more than the detained vessel's name. It is also when the message appeared, how the report's time was entered and why “Datuk Bent” was placed beside it. The available record does not finish the story of the vessel or cargo.
The preliminary report ends with “further investigation.” So does the material in hand: the vessel name, the form of address and the two clocks are all there. What is missing is the sequence that genuinely connects them.
